The Best of Norfolk: Congham Hall

Just outside of King’s Lynn and nestled between country fields, Congham Hall awaits. A true “let’s get away from it all” gem.

There’s no need to fret about leaving your best pal in the kennels as Congham Hall offers dog friendly rooms at a small charge of just £10 per night. These are on the ground floor and in the garden area with a patio outside, making an ideal area for your pup to have a good explore.

On the three occasions that I’ve visited Congham Hall, they’ve been excellent at responding to my vegan dietary requirement. On arrival, the fridge is stocked with soy milk and at dinner you won’t even have to ask for dairy free butter as it’s already placed on the table. Such a warm and inclusive welcome is what makes Congham Hall truly special. Not forgetting to mention that all of the food is cooked beautifully and includes supplies from their own gardens.

For my birthday in July, my mum booked me in for an hour long deep tissue massage. It was without a doubt the best massage of my entire life. The therapist couldn’t have been nicer, the atmosphere was serene and she did an excellent job of working the tension out of my neck and back. Worth every penny! The spa itself only allows for a limited number of bookings to ensure that it is never too busy. Complete with a sauna, steam room, bio-sauna, foot baths, indoor pool and outside hot tub, there’s plenty of ways to fully unwind. There are even “experience showers” that can be set to a Caribbean storm or a tropical mist, that gently diffuse essential oils too.

Just a 20 minute drive from Congham Hall is Heacham on the Norfolk coast. A favourite spot of mine to pop to the chippy and to enjoy a walk along the beach. If you’re not local to the area, you simply must take the slightly longer 30 minute drive to Holkham beach and Wells-next-the-Sea quay. Both of which are my most loved destinations in all of Norfolk.

Dinner, bed and breakfast at Congham Hall starts at £235 per room based on two people sharing.
