I am convinced that there is no better feeling than laughing until your tummy hurts. Laughing releases endorphins, which is the bodies way of saying “this feels good.” As amazing as having a good laugh with your friends and family feels, there’s more to it than just chuckling to a point of pleasant pain…
Humour lightens your burdens, inspires hope, connects you to others, creates beautiful memories and eases anger and bad energy.
Here’s some pretty cool benefits and facts about laughing in honour of World Laughter Day:
- Laughter can help relax the body… Yep sounds crazy but it’s true, it eases your mind of worries, but also helps relieve physical tension too. Quick yoga.
- Laughter helps you live longer 👀 A study in Norway showed results that people with a stronger sense of humour tend to live longer than their more regular peers! That’s definitely something to laugh about.
- Mental Refresh, nothing centres you more than laughing, it’s like pressing a little reset button that helps you focus again. Next time you’re sick or staring at your laptop and can’t seem to get any work done, reach out to the person who always seems to make you giggle and take a moment to refresh your mind with their humorous presence!
- Laughing makes you more attractive and not just to the opposite gender but to everyone. There’s no one that doesn’t appreciate a beautiful laugh or good sense of humour. Just make sure you know when to be funny and when not otherwise you might end up coming across as rude!
The benefits to laughter are truly many. I could sit here and list them to you, but I’d prefer to tell you to enjoy your day, reach out to your funny friend or perhaps be the funny friend to someone who might just need it. Smiling is the 2nd best thing to laughter so even if you can get a smile out of someone today it will be enough to be proud of! With everything going on in the current climate, appreciating the little things in life will help us get through.
Happy World Laughter Day 💗
