It’s one of the worst-kept secrets in Britain; Scotland, especially in the Highlands, is beautiful. Whether you’re interested in hiking and climbing or you’re a lover of culture and history, there’s something for everyone. From trying to spot Nessie in the world-famous Loch to exploring Eilean Donan castle, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to snap some shots, without worrying about filters. And, for those Harry Potter fans among you, you can catch a ride on the Jacobite steam train that was used for the Hogwarts Express. There, you’ll get some views that’ll really…stupefy.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

It’s a long flight, but Kuala Lumpur is well worth the trip. If you’re scaling the 451m high Petronas twin towers (the tallest twin towers in the world) to get incredible views, or you’re photographing them from below, you’re guaranteed to get a stunning set of snaps and see some beautiful sights while you’re at it. Or, venture into the Berjaya Times Square and get some thrills with their indoor theme park (complete with its own rollercoaster!). If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can even head out as far as the Batu caves, known for being revered Tamil shrines and worship spots. Not only are the caves stunningly beautiful in design, but you might even be able to get a photo of one of the resident wild monkeys that frequent there, for an iconic #animalsnaps picture.

Whether you want natural beauty or gorgeous city living, Amsterdam can offer it all. From river cruises under cleverly designed bridges to exploring their famously narrow buildings, there’s a sprinkle of everything in the capital of the Netherlands. Snap your selfies with the beauty of Vondelpark in the background or capture the moment that you discover stroopwafel ice cream. You’ll never be short of hashtags to describe the wonder of Amsterdam, and even if you get caught by bad weather, there’s plenty of indoor sights to explore, including a collection of impressive museums and the Royal Palace of Amsterdam. Plus, it’s only a 45-minute flight from the UK; perfect for packing your camera into your hand luggage and spending a long weekend getting artsy.

Norway

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Summer stroller or a Winter wanderer; there’s always something beautiful to behold in Norway. In Summer, explore the Nordic fjords and kayak if you’re searching for adventure (with your waterproof camera, of course, for those exciting action shots), or take some time out of your evening to enjoy the midnight sunshine that occurs from May to July. Or, if Winter’s more your favourite time of year, get some dramatic stormy shots through the cold, dark nights and find the right photo opportunity to capture the Northern Lights (or Aurora Borealis if you’re feeling fancy). There’s a whole range of beautiful places to see, so you won’t be short on photos.

New York City

The Big Apple just had to make the list of spots that are totally Instagrammable, and for good reason. The city of New York has striking skylines and picturesque streets that make filters completely unnecessary. You can climb to the top of the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller centre to get panoramic pics or explore Central Park for some vibrant greenery and incredible street performers. No matter where you turn in NYC, you’ll want to have your camera close. Iconic yellow taxis litter the busy streets and even their advertising is on a huge scale, so don’t by shy and make sure you explore every avenue for the best angles. Plus, why not stop for some gorgeous #foodporn shots at one of NYC’s best restaurants or cafes?

Germany’s cousin, Austria offers so much. With a thriving city culture that will give you the best nightlife experience, you’re guaranteed to fall in love with the lights and the excitement. With hip new bars and pop-ups appearing across Vienna, you’re not likely to get bored easily, and you’ll find plenty of hot spots to get some selfies too. There’s also a lot of history here, giving you buildings, sculptures, fountains and palaces to explore and snap to your heart’s content. Live the life of luxury when you visit Schönbrunn palace or draw in some #equestriansofinstagram with delightful pics of the Spanish Riding School.

Iceland

Would it really be fair to write a list of totally Instagrammable spots without including the stark beauty of Iceland? Iceland gets a reputation for being a cold wasteland, but if you ever visit, you’ll discover this is simply untrue. From awe inspiring waterfalls to epic glaciers, and some of the friendliest people you’ll meet, there’s plenty of draw to this chilly country. Venture out to Diamond Lagoon to capture the impressive icy depths on camera or see if you can get the perfect slow motion shot of Geysir erupting to share with all your followers.
