March 3rd, World Wildlife Day, a day to celebrate and raise awareness on the worlds wild animals and plants.
In 2013, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed March 3rd as the signature day for World Wild Life Day. This date is now the most important global annual event dedicated to wildlife. Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the aim was to ensure sustainable use of resources and conserving life; both on land and below water to halt biodiversity loss. This years theme is ‘Sustaining all life on Earth’ and as we move through a new decade, we move towards a more responsible and concious way of living.
Home to countless species, unsustainable human activities and overexploitation of the species and natural resources that make up the habitats and ecosystems of all wildlife are imperiling the world’s biodiversity, with nearly a quarter of all species are presently at risk of going extinct in the coming decades.
On World Wildlife Day 2020, we’ve teamed up with clothing and conservation brand Big Wild Thought, to celebrate the wild animals in their many varied and beautiful forms as a component of the world’s biological diversity.

Founded in Sheffield back in July 2018, Laura and Liam decided it was time to design and create a brand people can ‘wear and care at the same time’. With a love for animals and concious of the environmental impact we as a species are having on them, Big Wild Thought focused their brand on supporting relevant animal charities to their designs.
But how?
Starting with just 3 animals designs (Orca, Butterfly and Sloth) in just one coloured T-Shirt, there are now over 8 animal designs across clothing, accessories and prints! Each endangered animal range have a supporting charity, to help support and raise awareness on environmental concerns surrounding these animals. Every order includes information from Big Wild Thought and the chosen/relevant charity, informing customers about animal conservation and some fun facts too. They are now helping over 8 different animal charities in both the UK and Worldwide.
Our aim is to help conservation efforts around the world, by donating 10% of every sale to wildlife charities!
Not only is Big Wild Thought massively animal conscious, but they are highly focused on various environmentally friendly ways of working. All their packaging made from recycled cardboard and acid-free tissue paper. All recyclable!
However, Wildlife conservation isn’t something that is important on just one day a year. We need to be more concious in the way we live, all year round. But today, you can help raise awareness of wildlife and promote conservation and sustainable use.
The threats weighing on wildlife are often large and complex, so much so individuals might feel powerless about them. However, every person’s small actions add up to a much larger solution – making the difference between a species surviving or disappearing forever.
#DoOneThingToday to help contribute to the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity on Earth.
