Each year when spring rolls around, the high street and online stores are flooding with colour and patterns that take the place of warm tones and neutrals of the previous winter. It’s an exciting change of season, going from constantly layering up to dressing down with minimal clothing items. Spring/Summer collections are always vibrant and often include floral patterns.

Fashion at the moment is full of bright colours, specifically muted neon shades of green and pink, and they seem to be here to stay. If you’re struggling to decide what to pack on your holiday, or what to wear in the beer garden after work this summer, here is some summer wardrobe inspiration for you.

The secret to always having something to wear is by making sure you invest in the basics, those classic items that can be worn with almost anything and everything. Trends come and go but the essentials in your wardrobe will always be in style. The plain white tee is a perfect example of this, dress it up or down and it will always be a staple.

WHITE SHIRT DRESS

This summer, a neutral coloured shirt dress is a great investment. It can be paired with a bright blazer to tie in with the trending colours, some platform sandals and a statement bag. Alternatively, it can be worn with trainers and a denim jacket for a more casual look and it is even perfect for that dreaded transition into Autumn and can be worn with tights and boots too.

Shoes tend to be more of a constant in our wardrobes, we pull out the same pair of boots in the winter and go back to the trusty comfy sandals every spring. Another timeless piece is an oversized blazer, but they don’t always have to be neutral colours for them to be stylish.
