Here are three super easy tips for how to stay fashionable on a budget this year…
Keeping up to date with the constant evolving fashion industry can sometimes seem like an impossible task. Every season brings with it a whole new range of ever-changing trends and styles. Keeping up to speed with this can become an expensive and seemingly difficult affair. However, fashion doesn’t always have to break the bank! Here are three super easy tips for how to stay fashionable on a budget:
Buying pre-owned items is a cheaper and more sustainable way to purchase. There are several online marketplaces such as Depop and eBay where you can often find pre-owned items being sold at a much lower price. So many great deals can be discovered on these websites, from stylish vintage items to clothing from current collections with tags still attached. This is also a perfect alternative to shopping fast fashion. You still benefit from the low price point but continue to help the environment by making sustainable purchase decisions.
Another alternative is to visit your local charity shops. There are so many hidden gems within second-hand shops waiting to be found. Often, designer items can be purchased for over half of the original price. In addition to the amazing bargains, by purchasing from charity shops you are donating money to a good cause and shopping sustainably. It’s a win-win situation!
Another way to stay fashionable on a budget is to build your wardrobe up with basic pieces. These can then be mixed and matched with a wide variety of outfits. Look for clothes that are neutral or plain with no patterns, or designs that can be effortlessly paired up. Invest in classic pieces, such as plain t-shirts, which can be worn under or over other clothing. Add a good pair of jeans which fit perfectly and a high-quality simple jacket that can be thrown on to complete any look. The chances are that key staple pieces such as these won’t be too pricey and can usually be worn all year round. A great place to shop for basics is Zara. The final tip for shopping budget-friendly fashion is to buy from resale or outlet stores, rather than from directly off the rack. Many leftover pieces from previous collections are transferred to outlet and resale shops to make room for new season stock. Outlet stores such as the ASOS Outlet offer special promotions and reduced prices on branded goods; for instance, Calvin Klein, True Religion and Adidas are available. Resale stores like TK Maxx also provide perfect quality out-of-season designer clothing at a reduced cost. This is a perfect way to ensure you look fashionable whilst on a budget!
