One Item Three Ways

Re-wearing your clothes is one of the best and easiest ways to build a more sustainable wardrobe. The attitude of “I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing the same thing twice” is over, and people are embracing their existing pieces. Unfortunately, when you get a statement or trendy piece, it can sometimes be hard to style it in new and unique ways.

No one wants to wear the same outfit over and over, which can lead to your clothes sitting at the back of the wardrobe or getting thrown out. We will show you how to style some of the trendiest pieces of the moment in completely distinctive ways, so no one will guess you’re re-wearing!

Tennis Skirts

Tennis skirts are the fun, summer piece we all loved, but we don’t have to stop wearing them just because it’s winter. Throw on a pair of plain or patterned tights, and they’re good to go for the season.

Look One: Monochrome knitted jumper and tailored coat

Inspiration: @lucyflorals

Monochrome looks are a fashion classic, and an easy way to bring new life to an overly worn piece. On extra chilly days, layer up with a tailored coat to bring a touch of sophistication to this otherwise playful skirt. Perfect for an office outfit, or perhaps lunch with your friends or partner.

Look Two: Classic turtleneck and over-the-knee boots

Inspiration: @mari_malibu

The easiest outfit to throw on and go, perfect for when you have no idea what to wear. This is instantly chic, and looks great whether your skirt is patterned or plain. The boots will keep you cosy, although can be swapped for tights and ankle boots or trainers depending on what you own. It also looks amazing with a sleeveless turtleneck.

Look Three: Colourful crop top

Just because it’s colder outside, doesn’t mean we have to say goodbye to colourful outfits. On the face, this outfit definitely looks more summery than the rest. Just layer it with a jumper, fur coat or a tailored leather jacket (in bright colours of course), and it’s a statement winter fit.

Sweater Vest

The perfect winter warmer, sweater vests are the nineties trend I never want to get rid of. Many people don’t realise that they can really be dressed up or down no matter the occasion or your style. Try some of these looks to bring new life to this cosy piece.

Look One: Oversized shirt and slim trousers

Inspiration: @xiaogetsdressed

The perfect look to take you from day to night, whether it’s the office and after work drinks, or shopping and a night on the sofa. We love how this is simple yet chic, and is a great way to introduce layering into your wardrobe. And like Xiao says, it’s perfect to hide the food baby!

Look Two: Preppy maxi skirt and long sleeve top

Inspiration: @vintagebylauren

A great example of modest fashion, this completely vintage fit is the perfect mix of old school pieces with new school styling. The preppy touches keep it youthful, and the silhouette is very lengthening when paired with the heeled boots. If a baggy vest wouldn’t suit your shape, feel free to swap for a tighter, shorter one.

Look Three: Cropped vest, dress, and boots

Inspiration: @jnoellepetite

An effortlessly chic outfit, a tight, cropped sweater vest is a great new way to cinch the waist without wearing a belt. Co-ordinate your vest to your shoes and accessories like Jennifer, or go for a bright, mismatched look. The chic silhouette this style provides will have you looking flawless regardless.

Fashion is the perfect way to express yourself. There’s a look for every style and feeling, and countless ways to experiment with your look. We hope this blog has given you some inspiration, and the confidence to re-style your pieces. Now, you have no excuse to not re-wear your wardrobe.
