Get Your Coat For Winter

From timeless leather coats to cozy puffers, we have got you sorted with our edit of the very best coats on the Highstreet this Winter!

Ah, the duvet of the coat world. Long or short, this quilted classic is guaranteed to keep you warm, whilst giving off that nostalgic 90s vibe we’re all currently craving.

With four different colours to choose from, this long-length button-up puffer coat is perfect for any chilly occasion. It’s even got a funnel neck so you can button it all the way to the top for extra snugness. I’m also certain it would double up fantastically as a lovely indoor housecoat (don’t judge me – I have extremely high ceilings and an even higher heating bill).

Perhaps slightly less practical due to its cropped style, what this jacket lacks in length, it makes up for in hood. I have spent many years sporting gorgeous coats and sopping wet hair because a) I have lost every umbrella I have ever owned and b) apparently most coats with hoods are purple cagoules.

Any coat that takes inspo from a bear is a winner for me; the perfect transition from dressing gown to real outside clothing, the teddy coat will keep you warm and cosy, whilst ensuring you still look like you’ve made an effort.

I have this coat and I can honestly say it’s like being hugged by Baloo. Thrown easily over any outfit, the oversized, longline silhouette and wide lapels make this perfect for wrapping yourself up in a fuzzy cocoon – just what we all need when the weather is miserable. Also, Nasty Gal almost ALWAYS have huge promos, so you’re guaranteed to bag this one at a discounted price.

I can’t recommend JDY’s collection at ASOS highly enough! This stylish cosy cropped jacket combines fuzzy teddy fabric with a bold check design. Pair with chunky boots and skinny jeans to live your cutesy lumberjack dreams this winter.

Moving away from teddies and towards The Matrix, leather coats have made a huge comeback. Think less goth and more retro Kate Moss. This style is probably better suited to a night in the pub than a wholesome hike, but who am I to judge if you fancy nipping to Tesco Express looking like Keanu Reeves?

A classic trench with a modern twist, wear this faux leather coat loose or belt at the waist for a cinched in style. This one comes in black and off white and I am dying to get my greedy hands on the black, but it keeps selling out. If you do see it back in a small, please give me a shout…

Part of the always on-trend ASOS DESIGN range, this faux leather coat could complete an outfit but also looks good enough to wear alone with heels.

Just like the humble spork, there’s something very fun about two inanimate objects merging to create another. I like to think of it as a jacket and a shirt falling in love and having a baby. Fusing a shirt silhouette with the warmth and thickness of a jacket, this hybrid style has been spotted everywhere this year – I wish the same could be said for the spork. Layer over jumpers this winter and wear with t-shirts as we enter spring (seems like a million years away but I assure you, it’ll be here before we know it), it’s the perfect transitional piece that’ll last.

A slightly higher price tag but I think this will be worth it for the wool – super cosy and oversized so you’ll be able to layer up underneath in the colder months and it’ll act as a proper winter coat. I can see this with leather trousers and chunky Chelsea boots and honestly can’t decide which colour is my fave. Shall we write to them and see if they can make a reversible version?

A more purse-friendly option but just as good, this oversized checked shacket is perfect if you fancy exuding some sexy lumberjack energy. Believe it or not, I don’t actually own a shacket yet and I might have just added this to my basket.
