As we’re spending more time than ever at home, I find festive-fying your home the perfect way to get in the mood. With Christmas scarily round the corner, it’s the perfect time to start shopping for some homeware pieces to add to your collection.
With both highstreet and high-end options, there are a couple of stores that just nail it with Christmas homeware...
Next
A highstreet favourite, I find that Next is sometimes overlooked, but they really come out trumps; their Christmas online shop is so easy to navigate as well. Their wreaths and garlands are some of my favourites available and you know you’re getting fabulous quality but at a decent price too. This year, they’re even offering personalised garlands including this Personalised Mistletoe Kiss Wreath by Dibor which is beautiful. They also have an entire cosy shop, filled to the brim with faux fur cushions, snuggly throws and cosy cushions; I absolutely need this faux fur beanbag during the cold nights. Also, their novelty section is fabulous, things you didn’t know you needed; Christmas Toilet Roll Cover and a specific laundry bag for the festive season.
Oliver Bonas
On the higher end of the budget is Oliver Bonas and although they don’t come out with masses of Christmas products, the ones they do are always beautiful and intricate. If you’re looking to splurge on a Christmas decorations or homeware, this is the place. I’m completely in love with these Spinner Rotary Candles where the heat of the candle makes the top spin. Every year they also come out with beautiful beaded Christmas tree decorations, which are not only a great gift for your own tree, but to also brighten up someone else’s home.
John Lewis
We can’t do Christmas without John Lewis. Obviously, we are all on the edge of our seats to find out what the Christmas advert is going to be this year. No one does Christmas like John Lewis. What I love about John Lewis is that it’s accessible for a lot of different budgets, you just need to know where to look. Obviously as a department store it’s superior in the fact that it really does have everything you need at home. Their home lights are beautiful including this Star Light, Silver add that extra bit of twinkle to your home. Christmas also doesn’t just have to be in your living room or bedroom, the kitchen is obviously key to making all the Christmas food, so having Christmas Tins at the ready for those mince pies and these adorable unique cake toppers from Paddington Bear will put you one step ahead this year.
Matalan
On the friendlier side of the budget, Matalan always has some brilliant bits in for Christmas. I’m not just talking about a couple of baubles and decorations, I’m talking tea towels, bedding, bathmats, dinner sets; Basically, if you need anything Christmassy – Matalan is the place to go. Some of my favourite products include this Reversible Ditsy Holly Christmas Bedding, their array of Christmas Nutcrackers and this adorable Christmas Dachshund Cushion.
H&M
Another highstreet favourite, H&M Home always brings the classy Christmas homeware to the table. A lot more subtle with their Christmas patterns, they’re seasonal picks this year are in-keeping with everyone’s jute/nordic inspired homes. Some of my favourite picks include this Jute Christmas Tree Mat, these print cushions, and all their tableware including this Marble Cake Stand, imagine how beautiful your Yule log/Christmas Cake will look on this!
