SOLOS, the TV show that will make you reflect...

The new Amazon Prime show ‘Solos’ is a seven-part series that explores the idea of what it truly means to be human. Beautiful, strange, heartbreaking and hilarious, this TV show takes you on different journeys with some of the world’s most renowned actors, including Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Uzo Aduba, Anthony Mackie, Helen Mirren and many more.  

Considering that the show has no actual plot, and has a sci-fi / black-mirror feel to it, its intent is to make you explore and reflect on life, human connections and take you on a self-discovery journey alongside the characters, allowing you to identify the definition of humanity, with all the pros and cons that come with it.

Last month saw the start of the sixth series of this award winning and delightfully daft comedy and food podcast. The premise is straightforward: a guest visits comedian hosts Ed and James at the Dream Restaurant, and the Genie Waiter (James) brings them whatever they desire. In-depth discussions about the class status of fizzy water and the morals of cheese boards ensue, along with really weird food opinions from celebrities you used to respect. When it comes to where to go for food, there is nowhere quite like the Ivy, Spinningfields. Located in Manchester, The Ivy offers something for everyone – their brasserie menu serves a variety of dishes whilst Ivy Asia, on the second floor, serves Asian-inspired cocktails and small sharing dishes. There is also a roof terrace that is a must-visit on a warm summers evening. For those who are not local to Manchester, there are other Ivy locations including London, Leeds and Brighton.
