Mapping Your Mind & Visualising Your Life

Are you in tune with your thoughts and feelings? Are you paying attention to your personal needs? Are you reflecting on how you spend your time each day/week?

Keeping track of all of the above is the essential part of self-love and that’s something we’re all doing more of in 2020. It’s a lot easier said than done but with a little bit of practice, we can get there one step at a time.


What will you need? 

A notepad, a journal, pen & highlighters and a board to pin your vision.

Here’s a simple, yet effective guide for you to create your very own mindful map. Be as creative as you like with this and make it appealing for you to keep up OR simply strip it back to basics.


Write down five things you’re thankful for. It doesn’t matter if you’re being repetitive, you just have to get down what’s on your mind. Focus your gratitude towards the things you want to thrive in your life:
(career, relationships, your health and even your surroundings).

Write a to-do list for the day and try to minimise it as much as possible, but also make sure you’re only writing what you should be prioritising. It doesn’t matter how big or small, this is simply for daily guidance.

Have 10/20 minutes per day of brain training, the more time you spend on this the better… Read a book, listen to a podcast or watch something informative and positive on YouTube (Make most of your internet access, there’s endless motivation and inspiration on there).


At the end of a week and the start of a new week, we must reflect and set our intentions. This will take as long as you need it to, if you have to think a little harder or write some more, then go with it. Some weeks will be easier than others. Obviously, Sundays are the best day for this as you can do both back to back and have a mindful hour.

Start of week intentions:

My weekly affirmation is:
My number 1 priority this week is…
I want to do less…
I want to do more…
I want to feel…

End of week reflection:

I feel…
I need…
I could’ve spent more/less time doing…
This week I have learnt…
What didn’t I do this week that I can do next week?
What challenged me?

This is just an idea of where to start off, you can change the questions or add more (Whatever works for you and your lifestyle)


Reflect on all of the above, but in a much bigger scale. Tick off your to do list, track your most common mood and recognise what made you feel that way. Have you achieved any goals? The questions you need to ask yourself are endless – you can pick at every little thing and dig deep.

Just take note on everything you feel and refer to all the key notes you made throughout the month.

A new month means it’s time to start the cycle again and repeat over.

Mind mapping your personal thoughts and feelings, goals and intentions is one of the most exciting ways to enhance your productivity. It allows you to identify your personal growth and motivates you to do more with your free time; primarily focusing on your personal wellbeing.

It’s a great habit to implement into your daily/weekly routine and will no doubt give you the necessary information for you to improve many areas of your life. It will take much practice but as long as you’re willing to put the work in you will be reaping the rewards… you get out what you put in and it’s completely down to you how much that is…
