Cohorted talks to Katie Bailiff about how women have come through the ranks in the field, the barriers to women’s success in a male-dominated industry, the importance of loving what you do, and shooting a rape trial.
Katie fell in love with the film world around the age of 14. Her father, a boat builder, loaned a boat to a local production crew for a film they were shooting nearby. Katie tagged along and spent the next day and a half on the set, loving every moment!
In today’s episode, she chats about what Women in Film and Television really does, what membership and mentorship entails, the advice she’d give to women starting in the industry, and how to identify a key story.
WFTV is currently working on the bare bones of a leadership program and a writer’s retreat.
