Being single on Valentine’s Day is no bad thing. We explain how to enjoy being single on Valentine’s Day and some ideas for how to make the most of it.
Even though it may seem like being single on Valentine’s Day is the worst thing on this planet, it’s really not. There is a lot of stigma when it comes to being ‘alone’ during lovers’ season and we truly need to get over the commercialisation of being in a relationship on the 14th of February.
Being single is more than okay! I personally love being single on Valentine’s Day because, as opposed to spending my time worrying about gifts and dinners and focusing my time on someone else, I get to enjoy time with my biggest fan…ME! So, this Valentine’s Day take a break from the stress that the world puts on the singletons and enjoy these fun ‘me, myself and I’ things to do.
Relax! There is nothing better than taking the time to make sure that you give yourself a pamper day. Book that spa day and a lovely massage. We’ve all been going through stressful times in the past year, so there is nothing better than some ME-time to feel refreshed.
Increasing your knowledge and learning about different subjects that you may not know much about is the most productive way to spend your time this Valentine’s Day. Visit that gallery and/or museum – or take a virtual tour – and expand your mind to new art forms and old historical moments.
This doesn’t necessarily have to involve a significant other. Pick that movie trilogy or TV show that you’ve been wanting to binge for a while, set yourself up a nice snack tray in bed and watch away. You could also call your besties over and get them to binge watch with you and make a funny night out of it.
Splash out on that item that’s been sitting on your wish-list for a couple of months whilst you’ve been trying to find a valid reason to purchase it. Now is the time!
Game night is the best way to spend time with friends and have a good time. Call up all the singletons and couples and have the ultimate virtual get-together.
There is always a project that you’ve put in the back burner for a while so why not start now. Dust off that sewing machine or get cracking with that bookshelf that you wanted to build. Your time is now!
There is definitely something that you’ve wanted to try out or learn more about! Whether it’s kickboxing or learning the principles of marketing, sign up to that class and learn something new.
