New Year’s Resolutions: 2 Months In

It’s the second month into the year. It might be chilly, but the evenings are getting ever so longer and Spring is officially on its way. But today, we’re addressing the elephant in the room (or the mouse, depending on your guilt levels right now…). It’s time to talk about New Year Resolutions…

Veganuary came and went. I for one, knew that giving up my milky tea was a tad too far, so opted for Veguary instead. 2 months in and… I’ve actually stuck to it! However, I do know many who haven’t.. But thats ok?

We put far too much pressure on ourselves, on keeping in line with these idealistic rules, so here are some little things to do, to help get back on track, with half the agg.

FITNESS

Buy a promotional gym pass, or one of those “try us before you buy us” passes. This is the best way to approach the gym, if you don’t trust yourself. You’ll save a lot of money before you decide to buy a year-long gym membership and you might actually find your groove. If gyms are not your thing, grab a hula-hoop, pop on some ABBA and channel your inner dancing queen. Sometimes exercise in the comfort of your own home works better, so let loose and have fun. It works wonders. Trust me.

FOOD

To cut down on my meat consumption, I went cold turkey on January 1st (pardon the pun…). I want to focus on cutting meat out my meals once or twice a week, to ease myself into it. Try a stuffed mushroom instead of a heavy steak, it’s easier and yummier than you think. Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to approach a vegan/meat-free lifestyle, every little helps.

CAREER

Another one of my main ambitions for the new year. With the January slump well and truly out the way, I can begin to focus my time on getting the job I really want. I gave up within the first week of the year, but now, I’m more ready than ever. I’m definitely ready to move on, and up, now – all it took was a little time.

Everyone slips up and resolutions (more often that not) are broken before they’ve even begun. BUT, it’s a new century and it really can be a new you. Take some time for yourself to outline some simple goals for 2020.
