Zendaya Wins CFDA Fashion Icon Award and We Can See Why!

She knew she was receiving the fashion icon award and sure dressed for the occasion!

Zendaya attended the CFDA Awards ceremony wearing a stunning red bandeau crop top and a matching floor-length column skirt with striking peplum detail, designed by Vera Wang. She is the youngest star to win the award joining the likes of Rihanna, Jenifer Lopez and Beyonce. Zendaya’ creative choices and attitude at every event she is attending constitute her brand image and makes her unforgettable. Tom Holland, her boyfriend and co-star, has taken to social media to praise Zendaya on both her performance in the new movie Dune and for receiving the award.

In only a decade, she has solidified her spot as a fashionista and the face of luxury brands like Bvlgari, Valentino and Lancôme and with promoting her recent performance in the movie Dune on the cover of Vogue magazine. She has always been a fashion icon, dating back to her early Disney days. Her looks have always been bold and risk-taking. In late 2019, her remarkable appearance at the Emmy Awards solidified her shift from Disney actress to the star of Euphoria. She wore another Vera Wang designer dress created with green satin complete with a corset and a high leg slit. She continues to make a name for herself and stand out from the crowd in her performances in The Greatest Showman, Spider-Man and Malcolm and Marie to name just a few.

We can’t write about Zendaya’s fashion statements without looking back to her 2018 Met Gala with her homage to Joan of Arc designed by Versace. She rocked the bob cut and metallic armour complete with chainmail. It’s definitely one of my favourite looks of hers. She continues to bring powerful outfits onto the red carpet with her pink metallic breastplate from Tom Ford at the Critic’s choice award in January 2020. She is known for mixing traditionally feminine and traditionally masculine looks like her Valentino silk dress paired with an oversized tuxedo for the 78th Venice Festival.

We can’t wait to see her next look on the red carpet!
