And it’s for people who love extreme age gaps in their relationships…
A new online dating platform has launched, where singles are only paired with people with a 20-year age gap or more. That means no swiping on the fit lad who sits mysteriously at the back of your lecture theatre, but you might have a shot at the professor.
The website, called 20 Dating, has a custom search system that stops anyone seeing a profile with an age gap of under 20 years. Set up by David Minns, the mastermind behind Dinky One (for those guys with, ahem, a “below average penis size”), Butterfly (a transgender dating app), and Lisa 50 (for anyone over the age of 50 looking for love), 20 Dating was created after Minns spotted how tricky it was to find a large age gap on standard dating sites.
The platform requires absolutely no swiping – if you like someone, you just drop them a message. I guess when you start dating 20 years and up, you finally start getting some of that emotional maturity everyone is always talking about. Who would have thought?
20 Dating isn’t just for people looking for sugar daddies/mummies – there are plenty of apps out there already doing just that. No, this is for people who really like the May-December relationships. The 30-year-old women who don’t want kids and want a settled man who’s on the same wavelength. The 20-year-old lad who just loves a cougar. The 70-year-old who wants to spice up their golden years a little bit. Basically, anyone who’s looking for the Michael Douglas to their Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The site works because at 20 Dating, you know everyone is open to large differences in age. As Minns says: if extreme age gaps are good enough for A list celebrities, then why not everyone else?
