Picture this: you’re out with friends, it’s a warm summer night, you’re all dressed up and you stroll out to a rooftop bar terrace just as the sun is setting. Sounds like the dream doesn’t it?

Make the most of that feeling this summer with this list of the best rooftop bars in the UK.

Sky Lounge, Leeds

Located in Granary Wharf in the Centre of Leeds, Sky Lounge is everything you could possibly want from a rooftop bar. The location, the views and the wide variety of choices of drinks and food. They offer afternoon tea, bottomless brunch and so much more. Even on colder days, there are floor to ceiling windows inside so you don’t have to miss out on the view of the Leeds skyline.

FIVE, Liverpool

Liverpool is well-known for its varied assortment of pubs, clubs and bars. FIVE is walking distance from Liverpool Central train station so perfect for the beginning of a night out. The views include the famous Liverpool Cathedral, Radio City tower and other famous landmarks. A large cocktail menu means there’s plenty to choose from.

20 Stories, Manchester

A well-known and well-loved bar in Manchester with incredible views across the city skyline. Situated in the Spinningfields area, it looks down and out onto the surrounding area from the 19th floor. The view is great both during the day and at night-time.

This sleek rooftop bar is exactly what it’s called, views from above Newcastle upon Tyne.

Above is the bar on top of the roof of The Vermont Hotel and offers 360-degree views of the city meaning it is the perfect spot to see some sights whilst sipping a cocktail.

SKYbar, Edinburgh

On the top of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Edinburgh city centre, the SKYbar is now open to the public (non-guests and guests) at the weekends. With breath-taking views directly out towards Edinburgh Castle, this is a must visit if you are in Edinburgh for the weekend. They offer a large drinks menu as well as afternoon tea on Sundays.

The Furnace Bar & Restaurant, Sheffield

The Furnance is a gastropub in the heart of Sheffield overlooking the city centre. Not just a bar with great views, but good food also. Their large menu includes Brunch Boards, Small plates, classic pub meals and great desserts. The Furnace also offer an extensive cocktail menu separated into sections depending on what mood you’re in and what vibe you’re going for.

The Grape and Olive, Swansea

Floor to ceiling windows with views that don’t disappoint. The grape and olive sits on the top of an iconic tower of apartments with panoramic views of the marina and the sea.

The Rooftop, The Trafalgar St James London

Looking down directly onto Trafalgar Square and out onto the South Bank skyline including the London Eye, The Rooftop is the top floor of the Trafalgar St James Hotel. Unbeatable views of the London Skyline with great food choices as well as a large drinks menu with signature cocktails and more. Just a 2-minute walk from Trafalgar Square it is perfectly located for sightseeing.

Jin Bo Law, London

Quoted as ‘One of the best rooftop bars in London’ it seemed only right to finish the list with this location. Jin Bo Law is 14 floors up in the Dorsett City Hotel and looks out directly onto the Shard and the Gherkin as well as other iconic buildings along the South Bank and Canary Wharf. With a glass balcony surrounding it, the views are astounding and you can enjoy them alongside the extensive drinks menu. So close to many other incredible, ground floor level bars, it makes the perfect first stop for a day of drinking or the beginning of a night out.
