Introducing Maybi: a brand-new, no-pressure, bi-curious dating app
2021 really is the gift that keeps on giving: we’ve got a nationwide vaccine rollout, Trump is finally out of office, and there was a Ratatouille musical on TikTok that somehow raised over $1 million. I’m not entirely sure what happened there either.
And now, not even halfway through the second month of the year, we have some more good news: there’s a brand-new dating app on the scene. That’s right, as we struggle on through a third lockdown, after nearly 12 months of government mandated online dating, we’re being gifted with yet another opportunity to meet hot singles in our area.
Maybi is a new, bi-curious dating site that promises to come with no pressure, and no strings attached. Created by David Minns, a self-confessed ‘Niche Online Dating Man’ and creator of Dinky One (for those guys with, ahem, a “below average penis size”), Butterfly (a transgender dating app), and Lisa 50 (for anyone over the age of 50 looking for love), all members of the app must agree to the following rule: you must be questioning your sexuality OR be open to a same sex relationship with the understanding that whoever you match with may need time and support in exploring their own sexuality. There’s no swiping, just immediate conversation, and a quick and easy block button if you’re feeling overwhelmed.
Plus, it’s got a huge focus on privacy, which includes optional pictures, no exact locations, automatic deleting messages, first names only, and no dates of birth – only age. It’s the perfect combination of market leading privacy, and a no pressure environment.
Lockdown has got us all questioning our lives in one way or another, and some people will be wrestling with and questioning their sexuality in ways they may not have had the time and space to before – and that’s why Maybi is a safe haven to explore this. It’s a place to go to meet like-minded people, other singles who are ready to help you through your journey, and explore whatever it is you might be feeling.
