With us all spending more time at home than ever, I’ve got some great tips for practicing self–care in every room of your home. So if you’re not ready to get out and about just yet, here are the tips for you…
Turn your bathroom into an at home spa
If you love a good spa day, you can always treat yourself to some pampering at home. If you’re lucky enough to have a bath, take advantage of it and throw in a bath bomb or lots of luxurious bubble bath. And you can’t go wrong with a face mask too, so whether you opt for a sheet mask or a bit of a messier face mask, use the time to completely chill out.
Bake!
You don’t have to be a Bake Off or Masterchef contestant to get baking; all you need is a simple recipe, some bakeware and a few ingredients to get started. Why not join the masses and try baking a banana loaf? It’s not too late and it’s pretty simple to make, and so delicious! If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you could try making a vegan cake or flaky pastries to take to a summer picnic. This is the time to try anything!
Keep on movin’!
From doing some simple stretches to taking part in an online class, getting your body moving not only improves your physical health, but can do a lot for your mental health too. I love to get out the house for a walk outdoors for at least thirty minutes every day, if the weather permits. I find that I feel a lot better for it, particularly as someone who works from home.
Get into a routine
Sometimes, something as simple as getting dressed for the day, instead of spending it in your pyjamas, can make such a big difference. Doing your hair and makeup as if you’re going out, can also add a bit of normality to a day spent at home. It’s also a great excuse to try out some new makeup looks or hairstyles on yourself. Getting up at the same time everyday can also be a great way to get yourself into a routine, but don’t deny yourself a long lie every once a while either.
