Every time January comes around, you automatically prepare for the ‘January Blues’. Aside from the New Year, we know January can feel like the longest, saddest Sunday ever. But this year, adding some self-love into your daily routine might make this month not seem so bad.

Look back on what you achieved in 2019
Reflecting on your successes can help to make you more positive, ready for 2020. Be proud of what you achieved in the past year (no matter how small it may be or the circumstances) and also set some new goals for 2020 as a way of manifesting the year to come!
Spend time with friends
This is always a cliché point but often, you can get bogged down with work or caught up in your love life, so catching up with your girlfriends over a drink is a good way to get you laughing. Also friends are the best for advice if you are struggling with something specific during the longest month. There’s nothing more powerful than a group of people who support one another.
Delve into a book
Personally, I think a book can do wonders. Books take you to a different world where your mind is captured by the storyline, meaning you aren’t thinking about any matters in the real world. Reading comes with a huge sense of escapism, but also motivation, hence why it is perfect for beating the blues this January. Some favourites are: The Secret (all about manifestation), Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and lastly, Once Upon a River.
Treat yo self
January can be struggle money wise because Christmas/New Year are soooo expensive. We all struggle, but knowing the importance of occasionally treating yourself can really help to lift your mood. It doesn’t have to be a big, outrageous purchase but maybe a new skincare item or a beauty product can make all the difference.
Be your own biggest fan
The only person that you can always 100% count on is yourself. Make a list about what you love about yourself, ask other people what they love about you and be proud of how far you have come. Believe in yourself, work hard for your dreams and celebrate YOU!
