How To Attract Your Dream Job

Let’s talk about your dream career. You might already be in your dream job or at least working you way towards it. There’s also a possibility you’re don’t have a dream job – and not particularly keen on wanting one either. Or you might know whole heartedly what it is you want to do but you’re not quite sure how to get there. Either way, this guide is for you to have a read and see if there’s anything you can do to get you from where you are now to where you dream of being.

When we talk about ‘attracting’ we don’t mean magic. Whilst it would be nice, we can’t sit back and expect things to come to us with no initial process behind it. Attracting is all about putting ourselves into the alignment on those dreams and desires. Knowing what you want and recognising what you need to do and who you need to be to get there.

So, how can you attract your dream job/career?

Build the foundations.

You must start with self-awareness and clarity combined with your vision and goals. Attracting your dream job needs to be YOUR dream, not anyone else’s dream for you, this won’t work if you’re doing it to please others. When we’re attracting something into our life, passion is needed!

  • Write down the details of your dream job. What does it look like? The Location, position, salary, the team, the office design, the work-life balance, and the clothes you will wear. The opportunities to grow. Anything you can think of, visualise every detail and write it down.
  • What are your career and personal goals and why? You need clarity around your ‘why’.
  • How can you visualise your life to look in 10 years’ time. How will having your dream job shape this for you?

Identify the people that inspire you.

Think about the people that are doing what you DREAM of doing. Who are they and what do they do that inspires you? This is a great exercise to do when you’re naturally drawn to someone. You want to get a feel for the type of person they are. What does their day look like, what are there hobbies, what habits do they have. How do they dress and even communicate.

You don’t have to copy and paste their entire being, it’s important you are authentic and true to who you are. You just need to figure out any important factors that may allow you to connect the dots of the person you need to become to get your dream job/career.

Put your ducks in a row. Get yourself out there!

We are more than fortunate to have access to almost anything and anyone at a click of a button. You know what you want so go and get it. Take action, small steps lead to big results. It all boils down to what your dream career/job actually is. You have to build the bridges to get you there.

  • Be creative and build yourself a portfolio.
  • Network. Network. Network. This is your net-worth. To some degree it is what you know but it really is who you know.
  • Connect to people within your industry directly & ask questions.

Act as if you’re already there.

Just like we’ve covered the visualisation aspect, we want to make it a reality. Start living and experiencing what it would be like if we were to have this dream job. For example; imagine someone wants to be a stylist. What would they go and do? Turn to social media, style themselves or others and share it with the world (Emily in Paris vibes). The same applies to any job/career. There’s always something we can do to start experiencing the reality.

It’s all about adjusting certain areas of your life to suit that new life. Just by being and doing all of those little things, it will gradually get you a step closer each day. When you put yourself in a high frequency state you’ll attract more alikeness. Go and get that dream.
