Autumn Date Night Ideas

Although many of us don’t want to accept it, summer is rapidly coming to an end and soon the dark nights, rainy weather and cosy evenings in front of the TV will be upon us. For those of you who are dating or already in a relationship, here are some cute date ideas to look forward to during these colder months.

Cosy cottage mini break

A romantic getaway is the chance for you to spend some quality time with your partner. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagantbook a holiday cottage with a quaint pub nearby, which you can visit after a day of countryside walks or a chilled day in watching Netflix. Bliss

Cinema

Although this seems like an extremely simple idea, the cinema is something a lot of people have been missing over lock down. Now most cinemas are up and running, this is a great way to spend date night; why not support your local, independent cinema and watch a film you wouldn’t usually opt for. Bring all the snacks and enjoy a casual evening together.

Fun Fair

For a more adventurous date night idea, try visiting a fun fair. Fun fairs tend to crop up during the autumn/winter months with all the holiday celebrations taking place, so there are plenty to choose from. Waltzers, candy floss and hot dogs will most likely be the on the evening’s itinerary and the bright, neon lights make for excellent photo opportunities. Get ready to release your inner child.

Games night

When the weather is as consistently bad as it is in the UK, sometimes you don’t want to venture out to a restaurant or bar for date night. Games night is timeless; invite your coupled-up friends over and make it a double or triple date. Be creative with the board games you have, play old school video games together or shake up a few margaritas make things livelier. Order a takeaway and you have a fun-filled, cosy night in.

Take turns cooking for each other

Home cooking is both a date night and (if you are not great in the kitchen) a learning experience for you and your partner. Both choose a starter, main and dessert recipe and challenge each other to cook the three-course dinner once or twice a month. If you are a competitive couple, you could even turn it into a challenge and have a winning chef. It’s far cheaper than eating in a restaurant and will give you both an opportunity to improve your cooking skills. Win win.
