You’ve probably heard people talking about ‘manifesting their goals’ and how you can use manifestation to achieve yours too. But if you’re new to manifestation, you might not have a clue where to begin… or what manifestation even is!
Let’s start with what Manifestation is.
In basic terms, manifestation is using the Law of Attraction to attract into your life everything that you desire. It is the concept that what you think about and focus on becomes your reality. Buddha’s quote sums it up perfectly…
“ What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.”
Many people are skeptical about the law of attraction and manifestation, and whether it actually works. But for those people, going through the motions of manifestation can still help them achieve their goals. Simply writing down each little step and working towards these goals with an ultimate focus on what they want to achieve.
For those who do believe in the Law of Attraction, like me, it’s not just about focusing on your goals and working to make them happen. It’s about putting your goals into the Universe and aligning with a higher vibration to make them happen.
That might sound a little ‘woo woo’ but let me explain…
Using the law of attraction, “like attracts like”. So if you are in a ‘high vibrational state’ – full of positivity, hope, optimism and happiness, the Universe will match that and deliver those same positive energies back.
If you are always feeling negative, looking for the worst in situations and generally not feeling great, then the Universe will match with what it delivers.
For example… if you hate your job and want a new job, there are two ways to look at it. You can either moan about the job you hate, feel down and be all round negative about the whole situation… or… you can feel happy that you’ve realised that this job isn’t for you, and excited for your next opportunity, whatever and whenever that may be.
If you’re the negative person in this situation, the Universe will match your vibration and it’s unlikely you’ll get your dream job.
However, if you’re the positive person, the Universe will match your positive vibrations and it’s more likely you’ll get the job you want and be happy in it.
That doesn’t mean you have to be happy 24/7 – it’s very unlikely that someone can be happy all the time! It’s more about focusing on the positive rather than the negatives of any given situation.
Manifestation isn’t just thinking about what you want and then getting it.
It’s much more than that.
It’s about being clear on what you want, visualising it and then making it happen. The whole process is super empowering.
Here’s where to start:
All you need to get started as a beginner is an open mind and a desire for what you want your life to look like. You need to be specific and also think that anything is possible… but of course be realistic. There’s not much point in manifesting that you’re going to be the first woman to step foot on Saturn when there’s no chance of that happening… well, in our lifetime!
And importantly, you need to remember that manifestation is a journey. Don’t expect results instantly or overnight. If it was that easy, everyone would believe in it and have everything they want!
The first step is choosing what you want to manifest into your life. This goal needs to be specific and you need to think about the steps you will need to take to get there. Don’t forget, this needs to be realistic! If you aren’t sure what your specific goal is just yet, put together a vision board filled with everything that makes you happy; your favourite quotes and images of your dream life. Then try and hone in on what exactly you want.
The next step is asking the Universe for what you want. You can say it out loud or write it down. Most people speak as if their goals have already happened, so for example ‘I’m so grateful I got my dream job as a designer!’.
Once you’ve put this into the Universe, focus your thoughts on your goal and what you need to do to get there. Focus on the good things elsewhere in your life and more good will come into it.
Gratitude is a quick way to boost your vibration and be open to receive your goals from the Universe. Taking 10 minutes at the end of each day to think about what you’re grateful for helps tune your mindset to focus to the good in your life. Writing down what you’re grateful for in the morning can also put you in a optimistic mood for the rest of the day.
Just remember… you have the power to make your life what you want it to be. Whatever your desires are, they can be manifested. Take the first steps to your dream life and start your manifestation journey now.
