Let’s try to shift any negative or unwanted energy together. It’s important to lift yourself in times of need and it’s just as important to protect your energy at every possible chance you can. 2020 has been a rollercoaster of a year and we’ve all been impacted by something in one way or another and however, we deal with this is down to us. We’re allowed to feel low, frustrated, disappointed or however else, but we must not let it control us and we must not let it determine the upcoming months.
Here are the simple but effective and mood boosters to try out:
– Pick up a new book or listen to a new podcast (a topic of interest) and indulge yourself in it. Give it a purpose, why will it benefit you and what do you think you will get from it?
– Get outside, come rain or shine. Go for a walk and take in your surroundings, it’s a way to connect with the nature that’s around you. It’s important to get enough daylight every day – it’s an instant mood boost and a pretty beautiful one too.
– Take a break and some well-needed rest. Focus some time on your sleep routine and make sure you’re getting enough downtime and resting when you need to. A little nap never hurt nobody!
– Lock yourself in the bathroom for some time (firstly warn and apologise to your roomies) but take a long hot bath or shower and completely pamper yourself, head to toe. Use all of those unused products and bath bombs you’ve been saving, that have been pushed to the back of your cupboards for months on end.
– Focus on your five senses: smell something you love, touch something that feels good, taste something you enjoy, listen to something that excites you (see point 6) and watch something or look at photos/videos that make you feel good (happy memories are always best suited for this).
– Create some playlists that enhance your mood. Personalise your own folders and then spend some time flicking through songs and add them in (my playlists are ‘feel good’, ‘get up and dance’, ‘Chill zone’ for some inspiration).
– Become a plant mum. Indoor or outdoor plants work but honestly, becoming a plant mum is just so fun. Not only are they good for your health, but they have so many other benefits too, it’s rewarding watching them flourish.

– Keep yourself hydrated; I know this is almost too obvious, but it really enhances your mood. If you’re not drinking enough, it can actually impact our thoughts and energy.
– Pick up the phone and speak to a loved one. It’s important to catch up with people properly. Schedule a facetime or just a call, even make it a group session for extra energy!
– Clear out your space, everything that you use or have access to. Clear out and tidy it up, ditch and upcycle. Renovating your space is extremely calming and bright.
