Skincare For Women Who Prefer A Minimalist Routine

Face washes, cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizers, sheet masks, exfoliant……how many skincare products do you use every day?

From one person to the other, skincare routines can range from anywhere between one to fifteen steps. Multiple factors contribute to the length of a person’s skincare routine – you could be a person who enjoys an elaborate skincare routine, or you might be someone with problematic skin. On the other hand, you might even be a person who doesn’t want to invest a lot of time and work into a skincare routine with more than 3 steps, but still, wish to see brilliant results.

Being a person who gets fatigued by multi-step regimens and numerous skincare products, I have put together a mini-list of routines and combinations that helps you make the most out of your skincare routine by reducing it to the bare minimum.

1. Perfect Your Night-time Skincare Routine To Make Your Morning Routine Easier

Only by taking proper care of your skin will you be able to downsize your skincare routine. Going to bed with leftover makeup, thinking you will just wash it off in the morning will only lead you to wake up with dull skin and new breakouts. And, thanks to this, you will have to add a brightening serum and a spot treatment for your acne to your morning routine.

However, if you effectively remove all your makeup at night, and keep your skin clean, you are more likely to wake up with fresh skin. Thus, your morning routine will do well with just a simple cleanser, moisturiser, and sun protection.

2. Combine Your Skin Treatments

How easy and wonderful will it be to follow a cleanse, tone, moisturise, and sun protection routine? Nevertheless, if you add serums, and boosters into this routine, the chances are you might find it quite overwhelming.

Throughout the years, if there is one thing that I admire about minimalist skincare routines, it is how we can maximise the benefits we are getting from different products. There are endless combinations and possibilities as to what kind of products you can choose. All you got to do is make smart choices.

For instance, if you have dull and dry skin, use a moisturiser with Vitamin C to brighten your skin, and a hyaluronic acid serum to tackle the dryness. Additionally, if you feel the need of giving your skin more Vitamin C, include a face cleanser rich in Vitamin C to your routine. Normally, your sunscreen also comes with additional skincare benefits.

3. Added SPF Is Good, But There’s A Catch

Any makeup product that comes with added SPF is a deal you shouldn’t avoid. However, it doesn’t mean that you can remove sunscreen from your routine. So, a great option will be to blend the two steps by using a tinted sunscreen. When using a tinted sunscreen, you are both protecting your skin from the sun, and also adding a hint of coverage.

Bonus Tip: Buy Less

It’s always hard to resist a great deal doled out by our favourite brands. But, when we play around experimenting new products on our skin every day, it can overcomplicate your routine. Thus, if you have got tubes and jars of skincare products that are more than half full, consider finishing them off before diving in for a new purchase.

Lastly, 3 steps or 15, if you don’t follow the skincare routine you set, your skin is never going to cooperate with you. Concerns like dullness and acne will never go away on its own if you leave them alone. Follow a regimen that’s customised to your skin type, and stick to it. You will soon see brilliant results even if it’s a simple regimen.
