It’s hot. There I said it. It really crept up on us. We were given rain and storms before a heatwave no one saw coming. I’m the first to burn too. I’ll step outside and within 10 minutes, I’m a rosy hue. This list is as much for me as it is you and I’m excited about it, let me tell you.
Dermalogica SPF 30
Dermalogica has just released its Invisible Physical Defense SPF cream. It’s a thick but smooth texture, which does leave that white residue on your skin for 10 or so minutes. It works wonders, completely preventing any burning or redness! I tried it on my shoulders and arms too, which worked almost just as well, but just dried far quicker (rather than being absorbed). 9/10 on the face, and well, that’s what we’re here for really.
Alpha H SPF 50+
Their Daily Essential Moisturiser protects against both UVA and UVB rays, is lightweight and doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin. It also has the Pro-Vitamin B5, meaning added hydration to skin that absorbs quickly in the sun. Alpha H also states that it’s anti-ageing, so a win–win in my book.
Neutrogena SPF 25
When I asked my Instagram audience for their recommendations, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Sheild was one suggestion I had time and time again. At an SPF of 25, it’s a little less defensive than the others on our list, but nevertheless, it’s oil-free, water-based and at £12.99, it’s a must-try.
Clinique SPF 40
The Clinique Super Defense is a range of moisturisers and creams. From a multi correcting cream at SPF 25 and daily moisturiser at SPF 20 (with a separate night cream) to a multi correcting gel at SPF 40, this range has something for everyone. It claims to be sweat resistant also, making it one to test for those of us who choose to be active in the sun, rather than the sunbathers.
