Designers To Watch This London Fashion Week

It’s London Fashion Week this week and we could not be more excited about what’s to come for Autumn-Winter 2022. The British Fashion Council in sponsorship with Mercedez-Benz bring us every year a list of breathtaking current, new and emerging designers, with this year being more thrilling than ever.

As a person who live, eats and breathes fashion, there was no better thing for me to do that to compile a list of the ultimate designers to watch this London Fashion Week; with a mix of classic, modern, eccentric, avantgarde, opulent and much more, don’t miss out on the following creative minds and their collections for A/W 2022:

16Arlington

The cult London label questioning the idea of glamour with an infectious eccentricity. Better known as the cool girl’s go-to for ‘conversation-starting’ evening-wear, 16Arlington proposes a maximalist fashion language that expertly, deliciously negotiates the boundaries of trash – as well as a deeply accomplished skill for pattern cutting and hand-embroidery.

Rue Agthonis

The RUE AGTHONIS series is full of classic and charming details: sequins, crystal diamonds, animal prints and RUE AGTHONIS’ signature double R logo. These gorgeous styles remind you of those radiant style icons throughout music history: Queen, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones…Their unique, unruly and stunning shapes inspired the designer’s endless imagination and brought her a steady stream of creativity.

Simone works on seasonal imagery and self-publishes limited edition printed books featuring this and the works of collaborators and inspirations. Simone now has three stand-alone stores in London, New York and Hong Kong. Each of these stores feature Simone’s signature furniture and hand-made sculptures. The interiors change seasonally with new displays and installations, notably for SS16 the store window featured an installation titled Flowers and Cars. It was a car reconstructed in the window filled with dried flowers – representing the man-made and natural elements that form part of the brand aesthetic.

Banshee of Savile Row

With its name as a reflection of the founder’s, Ruby Slevin and Rocco Tullio, creative ideals and aesthetics, the brand aims to create the finest traditional tailoring with impeccable techniques, powerful female symbolism and mysticism in every design.

Drawing deep inspiration from the complex shapes and movement of the male body, Barrera’s queer female gaze allows her to view intellectually and artistically, seeing masculinity and male sexuality – the emotions, the forms, the behaviours, socially what it means to identify as male. Tailoring features heavily from season to season, each offering reimagined and subverted from a classic silhouette to create fluid, contemporary designs.
