Less Choice Might Not Be Such A Bad Thing
I don’t know about you, but my eating habits have definitely changed during lockdown. Availability and acceptance, of course, play a huge part in this, but let’s be honest, food is the biggest excitement. It’s a frequently visited topic of conversation in the house and the greatest joy.  Let’s momentarily glance back to pre-lockdown behaviour. We had become complacent. We could nip to the supermarket (now a major operation) or take an online shop to checkout in under half an hour (and have it delivered the next day, would you believe?).

Sleep Hacks: ways to wind-down
Whether you struggle getting to sleep, staying asleep or even waking up, there’s something here that might make all the difference to your night time routine. Everyone’s mind and body works differently, but the science behind it is all the same. There are just some specific things that really don’t promote a healthy sleep and some that really do. With a little bit of patience and knowledge, you may figure out where you’re going wrong before bed… That conventional cup of caffeine, I mean tea, before bed? Could be the worst decision you make.

Why you need to Marie Kondo your life
Whilst we continue to spend time in isolation, the more we notice around us. You pick up on messy things you may not have noticed until you spend every working day sat in front that hideous, overcrowded bookcase (the one you throw all your clutter onto). With spring creeping towards and more time on our hands, there’s no better time than now to release your inner Marie Kondo and cleanse every inch of your life.

The Curly Hair Products You Need In Your Life

These are the best products that I have tried, and trust me, I own half of Boots.

I have an extreme love-hate relationship with my hair. As anyone with curly, coily and frizzy hair knows, no hair days are the same. One day my curls can bounce beautifully around my face, the next day, my curls can spiral in seven different directions, resulting in a flat mess. So, if anyone knows how to tame some curly locks, it’s us curly girls.

No matter how much hope we give ourselves with the creams, serums and even hair custards, we’re often wrong when thinking that we have finally cracked the code on achieving perfect big curls, without the dreaded frizz. There’s that little voice in the back of your mind saying “why did I even bother spending an hour in the shower brushing out my hair, when it will just look lifeless again tomorrow?” which is why we all need an encyclopedia of curly hair products on hand 24-7, so we can all tame our manes!

With new curly hair products being released what seems like: Every. Single. Day. Where do we start? Coconut may not work for you, however Argan Oil may be your go-to, or vice versa… I know from experience that with all these thousands of products on the curly hair market, only a handful may work for you or your hair type.

Which is why, I have narrowed down the best shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, serums and creams for my curly hair. You are guaranteed to find something here to give your curls the extra bounce they may need.

SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONERS

If your hair is in need of a miracle product, this OGX shampoo and conditioner is honestly my go to hair wash product. With an ultra-rich blend of Coconut Oil, Vanilla Bean Extract and Essence of Tiare (a native flower from Tahiti), this extra-strength, reviving shampoo and conditioner will help to transform thick hair into a silky miracle. Oh and it is also sulphate free!

Cantu, is a brand that specialise specifically in curly, coily and afro hair and all their products include pure shea butter, restoring real, authentic beauty. Cantu Shea Butter Cleansing Cream Shampoo is a fantastic product for all curly hair types, as it has a gentle formula that is great for both natural and colour treated hair – giving a rich lather and removing any heavy build-up. The shampoo deeply cleans the hair and scalp and the unique, natural formula helps to reduce further breakage to the hair. Followed by the Conditioner, it softens and conditions curly and wavy hair – leaving your hair radiant, full of body and shine!

HAIR MASKS

There is nothing better to transform dry, damaged curly hair than using a thick, nourishing hair mask. This John Frieda Miraculous Recovery Deep Conditioner is one of my favourites as it helps to reduce breakage, reduces distressed, heat damaged hair and helps to seal split ends. With regular use, curly hair is transformed into a hydrated, conditioned and healthier appearance. Perfect for hair that needs some extra TLC!

The Garnier Ultimate Blends Hair Food Banana 3 in 1 Hair Mask is perfect for us curly girls with dry hair. The nourishing banana and shea treatment instantly absorbs into the hairadding no extra weight. The mask is also 100% vegan and has no silicones for a natural feel! This mask can also be used as a conditioner or leave-in product, what more could you want?

SERUMS

Serums are my ultimate curly hair must-have – they tame flyaways and keep your frizz under control. Truly underrated!

Not only do The Body Shop have a fantastic range of skincare and beauty products, but they also have a growing range of hair care products including, one of my favourites, the Grapeseed Hair Serum. This serum smooths hair and increases shine, while adding glossiness but leaving the hair grease-free. It is the perfect product for dull, frizz-prone hair!

Elvive Extraordinary Oil is definitely extraordinary. A hair serum designed to be used by all hair types however, when used on dry hair, it feels instantly illuminated, nourished and protected. Enriched with a precious blend of flower oils, the non-greasy formula leaves hair feeling soft, shiny and weightless. The serum can be used before shampooing, before styling or as a finishing touch – to ensure a perfect hair day everyday

CREAMS

I may be biased, but this product will always be a top choice to use on curly hair – and trust me, a little goes a long way! The Curl Enhancing Smoothie from Shea Moisture is a lifesaver for thick and curly hair. Enriched with Silk Protein and Neem Oil, the cream defines curls, reduces frizz and smooths hair for a soft silky feel without weighing it down! If you have curly hair, you do not want to be without this product!

Moroccanoil Curl Defining Cream is a perfect cream to use when you need extra definition on your curls and waves. The argan oil infused styling product includes advanced heat-activated technology that creates well-defined, natural looking curls that lasts. For a more relaxed curl, leave your hair to dry naturally or if you want to enhance your curl texture, you can use one of the best curly hair tools, a diffuser. Perfect for nourishing your hair – smells amazing too!

A bonus product you didn’t know you needed is the Luxju Nourishing Hair Mist. The all natural, organic and paraben-free mist has a non-greasy formula that will leave curly hair feeling soft, healthy and conditioned. An essential product for adding shine and hydrating your curls. It even won the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2020!

So, if you want to improve the style, texture or overall appearance of your curls, give at least one of these products a try. Believe me, you will not regret it!
