Less Choice Might Not Be Such A Bad Thing
I don’t know about you, but my eating habits have definitely changed during lockdown. Availability and acceptance, of course, play a huge part in this, but let’s be honest, food is the biggest excitement. It’s a frequently visited topic of conversation in the house and the greatest joy.  Let’s momentarily glance back to pre-lockdown behaviour. We had become complacent. We could nip to the supermarket (now a major operation) or take an online shop to checkout in under half an hour (and have it delivered the next day, would you believe?).

5 Amazing Vegan and Cruelty Free Nail Brands

A couple of years ago, it would have been a little difficult to put this round-up together. There would have been around 3-4 key brands that jumped out when it came to selecting quality vegan nail polish brands, involving a lot of scratching around on the internet.

But today, the hardest part was whittling down the super long list. It was pretty easy to find quality vegan nail polish brands that don’t test on animals, giving us a huge hotlist to cut right down.

We’re not complaining; it’s great to see so many beauty brands stepping up their game and offering vegan-friendly products. Every year, we’re seeing existing brands updating their offerings, or new, cruelty-free brands launching onto the scene. These brands officially don’t test on animals, and their nail polishes don’t contain any animal ingredients like fish scales (which is used to create that shimmer effect) or shellac (which is obtained from lac bugs).

As innovation in the nail industry continues to greatly improve, more people are wanting to avoid chemicals and the risk of inflammation from harsh ingredients. So, if you’re wanting to invest in high-quality vegan nail polishes that do a great job, we’ve made it less overwhelming for you.

Here are cruelty-free and vegan nail polish brands which will give you pretty polished nails without sacrificing your Vegan stance.

KURE Bazaar

This fancy, French cosmetic brand combines the ethics of an eco-natural formula with stylish shades and impeccable finishes. After years of research, they became one of the first brands to launch a range of non-toxic nail colours, without sacrificing a professional result. They use a formula of up to 85% of natural origin, based on wood pulp, wheat, cotton, potatoes and corn, and also claim to be the first range to remove benzophenone -1 and -3, which are two of the toxic chemicals used to prevent colour fading in nail polish

The packaging is chic and cute, and they have a fabulous flashy red shade called ‘LOVE’ which suits every skin tone.

What started out as a sassy little nail bar in Chelsea has now become an award-winning, luxury nail polish brand, with over 57 shades in the collection

L’Oxygéné is the range at Nailberry which centers around offering 12 free, vegan, cruelty free, gluten free and Halal certified polishes. The L’Oxygene collection eliminates alcohol, chemicals and animal derivatives, boasting toxin-free polishes in an array of gorgeous, high shine shades. Favourites include Peony Blush, which gives a warming, girly peach tone to nails, and Ring a Posie brings those striking metallic rose gold hues, perfect for occasions.

One of the reasons this brand is overly loved is due to the simple to use wide and flat brushes, which stop excess polish collecting on the bristles. Super easy to use when in a rush!

ZOYA Vegan Nail Polish

If there’s any vegan friendly nail polish brand you’ll have heard of before, it will possibly be ZOYA. This affordable brand is one of the most popular cruelty-free and vegan nail polish brands around, producing high-quality results in a variety of shades and finishes. Glitter, shimmer, matte, pastel or gloss, you name it, ZOYA has it.

As well as stocking over 300 colours (yes, they have hundreds!) they also offer a range of base coats, topcoats and speed dry drops. As they are one of the least expensive non-toxic polishes out there, as well as being one of the oldest, it’s worth trying out this brand if you haven’t looked at vegan friendly polishes before.

Butter London

If you’re looking for clean ingredients, good-for-you formulas and premium looking packaging, Butter London patent shine x10 collection will not let you down! Butter London was founded in London back in 2005, providing toxin-free nail polish range that doesn’t compromise on quality.

As the brand boasts an impressive lineup of 110 nail colourseach one is created to work exceptionally well on its own without the need for base coats or topcoats. Most people who try Butter London return to the brand due to the longevity of the products; but now more so due to the 100% vegan line – the patent shine 10x collection. This range features a patented shock resisting polymer technology which gives a gel-like finish and a glossy long-lasting shine. The biggest wow factor is that these polishes can last up to 6 days!

Beauty Without Cruelty

As the name kindly points out, this brand avoids cruelty with it’s long-lasting, quick-drying, high-shine nail range.  It features a smaller, more condensed product offering, with rich, deep and intense shades, contrasting with fresh pearly cream colours

Deepest Mulberry is your winner for sultry Winter looks, with Rose Quartz making a shimmery nude natural option for Summer.

Again, the nail polish range is all vegan, natural and 100% cruelty-free, as well as being gluten-free too. Beauty Without Cruelty also offers a range of eye, lip and face makeup, making the brand a certified member of the Vegan Society and Cruelty Free International.

When it comes to application, these nail polishes come with a non-streak duo brush, ensuring the perfect coat in just one go. And for those who live quite active lifestyles, the benefit of being chip resistant is an added bonus
