Less Choice Might Not Be Such A Bad Thing
I don’t know about you, but my eating habits have definitely changed during lockdown. Availability and acceptance, of course, play a huge part in this, but let’s be honest, food is the biggest excitement. It’s a frequently visited topic of conversation in the house and the greatest joy.  Let’s momentarily glance back to pre-lockdown behaviour. We had become complacent. We could nip to the supermarket (now a major operation) or take an online shop to checkout in under half an hour (and have it delivered the next day, would you believe?).

Sleep Hacks: ways to wind-down
Sleep Hacks: ways to wind-down
Whether you struggle getting to sleep, staying asleep or even waking up, there’s something here that might make all the difference to your night time routine. Everyone’s mind and body works differently, but the science behind it is all the same. There are just some specific things that really don’t promote a healthy sleep and some that really do. With a little bit of patience and knowledge, you may figure out where you’re going wrong before bed… That conventional cup of caffeine, I mean tea, before bed? Could be the worst decision you make.

Why you need to Marie Kondo your life
Whilst we continue to spend time in isolation, the more we notice around us. You pick up on messy things you may not have noticed until you spend every working day sat in front that hideous, overcrowded bookcase (the one you throw all your clutter onto). With spring creeping towards and more time on our hands, there’s no better time than now to release your inner Marie Kondo and cleanse every inch of your life.

Important Life Factors
There’s never not a ‘right’ time to learn these 7 key factors of life. When you feel like you’re on top of the world or when you’re at the lowest of lows, acknowledging the 7 factors of wellness and understanding how to utilise their purpose to your personal life, will easily enhance the great times and allow you to pick up from the bad ones.   Each factor is just as important than the other, but some will be more relevant and more important in our day to day lives. There’s nowhere to say you have to be perfect at all 7, it’s just a guideline on how to live a healthy, happy and mindful lifestyle.

A Tribute to Mothers Day

( /ˈmʌðə/ )

A woman in relation to her child or children.

To bring up (a child) with care and affection.

This post is about mum’s and I won’t move away from that, but I want to open with something my dad would actually say every year whilst I was growing up, when we’d talk about celebrating mother’s day… “Mother’s day is everyday! Every day you should be spoiling and loving your mum, it shouldn’t just be on one day.” But since growing up, mother’s day has meant more. Why not have a day to go all out and spoil your mum to show her just how much she means to you? Every day IS mother’s day, but mother’s day isn’t everyday. So spoil your mum, give her the biggest hug and remind her just how much she means to you.

A mother to me, is a symbol of strength. Strength that you can only know once you have become a mother. The patience that comes from the time you’re pregnant and waiting to see the face of your child, to every hurdle you face with your baby is only the type of patience a mother will know.

When I see my my mum I see the bravest person ever, selfless and strong. My mother had me when she was 23- when I think of it properly it genuinely baffles me, not to mention the fact she had 3 other kids before me, she gave birth to twins at 19 and had her first child at 17.

To think that my best friend in the entire world was the one who raised, fed and clothed me until I could stand on my own two feet and figure those things out for myself, puts me into a state of awe. This woman, who I am so dependent on, taught me everything I need to know – my favourite person to have a gossip with, the best cook I’ve ever known. Does they even know how amazing they are!? Everyone thinks their mum is the best, and honestly, they are absolutely right. Everyone’s mum is the best. Mum’s ARE the best.

The fact that we will never know all that our mums went through for us, is baffling. I believe if we were able to see all the struggles that our mothers went through for us, I think guilt would be the overriding feeling because we would never be able to repay them for their sacrifices.

How can one person have so much love to give? I’m sure all mums have their bad days, days that felt like they would never finish- their fair share of headaches, stinky nappies to be changed, having your sleep interrupted just to calm down a crying munchkin, but yet they still brave through and get the job done.

Not to mention how incredibly humble Mums are. I don’t think I know a mum who will admit they’ve done a mighty good job on raising their children, who will happily give themselves a pat on their backs for going through so much sweat, blood and tears (literally), to bring up a little human and shower them in the essential love they need to function properly. Mum’s really are the superheroes that don’t wear capes.

This mother’s day please just appreciate your mum. She’s amazing, she really is- and if your mum isn’t in the picture please feel free to appreciate the mother figure in your life or maybe even your friend who’s a mama, or the single mum who struggles no one knows of- honestly to me those, mums are the bravest.

So to all mum’s out there, the happy mum’s, the single mum’s, the mum’s who are struggling, the mamas that just don’t feel strong enough sometimes- never ever forget that you, as a mum, have accomplished something that not everyone is proud enough to say they can do! You are a mother. You are the first love of your children, you are their backbone and best friend. You may not hear it often enough but you are a superhero, a real life one- you deserve to be spoiled and adored and have a full whole day dedicated to you.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mama’s out there.
