The AW’19 Guide to ‘Monochrome Colour Blocking’

My previous blog post was on the upcoming trends for Autumn/Winter 2019. A personal favourite of mine was the colour blocking trend. Here is my guide to how I style the monochromatic colour blocking trend using what I already had in my wardrobe. I incorporate different colours and styles which you can adjust for any occasion…

LOOK 1 – PASTEL LILAC

My first look – I have quite a lot of purple shades in my wardrobe as I just love the colour this year! Especially the pastel shade which has been on trend. I took my lilac boiler suit as a starting point. The boiler suit is a staple you simply must have in your wardrobe, you can wear it with trainers for a casual day look or heels for a ‘going for a drinks’ style. The ultimate effortlessly cool attire. I paired the boiler suit with my cropped lilac fur jacket – my favourite fur last season. And finished with lilac accessories my lilac heels, glasses and beaded bag. You will notice that all the shades of purple aren’t exactly the same but the look still works – don’t worry if they don’t match up exactly! I can’t wait for the cooler weather to come back so I can wear this look out.

LOOK 2 – TAILORED PURPLE

A tailored night out look. This look all matches perfectly, you would think it was a three piece set but it wasn’t! I love this styling for drinks with the girls or a date night in town. Pair a tailored co-ord in one colour block and if you have a colour matching bralet or crop top – you have the evening wear look finished. To dress this look down for an office styling try a purple jumper or long sleeve sweater! Remember the shades of purple don’t have to be exactly the same, just in this case they all match. I finished off my look with black patent leather boots and oversized black sunglasses.

LOOK 3 – MINIMALIST

For all the minimal girls – monochromatic colour blocking is still a trend for you! I paired a beige linen co-ord with my leather patent longline coat in camel. Going for different neutral shades work so well together. I finished off with square toe sandals, rounded sunglasses and a beige bag to finish. This look is great for a day out shopping with the girls or a stylish day in the office. After all most of us are back to work by now…
